February was a packed month for the world of Radiology, so packed in fact that this edition is being released a week into March…

With good reason though, following European Society of Radiology ECR there is a lot to report!

ECR 2025 Review

Leaving Vienna on Saturday I couldn’t help but think about how impressed I was with ECR as a conference. Once you get to grips with the maze-like layout of the exhibition halls (which is after 2 days by the way), there was so much to love about Europe’s number 1 Radiology event.

From the numerous insightful talks and education sessions to the general aesthetic of the event and the culture of discussion and collaboration. I was very inspired by ECR 2025.

Which shouldn’t be a surprise, some of the most outstanding individuals and companies that I work with in this space are European, and the innovation across Radiology was there for everyone to see.

Particularly on the Thursday & Friday the corridors of the exhibition halls were packed, and several vendors have told me they had more valuable conversations on the Wednesday and Saturday than ever before too.

Partnerships were a focus, as was AI integration and the value it is already bringing. Funding announcements have been popping up all over the world of radiology recently and those organisations in receipt of investment were attracting even more interest than most, with back to back demos and meetings the order of the day for their teams – I’m looking at you Harrison.ai and Quibim.

From a recruitment perspective, this was probably the busiest conference I’ve been to in terms of new vacancies.

Almost every conversation I had was to discuss new positions, building new regions and taking advantage of a market with real potential.

In summary, I left ECR in Vienna hugely optimistic about the year ahead, the market is consolidating in some areas but is growing and innovating at a rate I haven’t seen for many years, and long may that continue.

FDA / Market Approvals

Careverse Technology Ltd led the way with approvals this month, announcing at ECR that four of their AI solutions receive MDR CE certification – CoronaryDoc, Careverse FFR, CerebralDoc and Careverse CTPDoc.

February started with Milvue announcing their second FDA clearance, this time for their TechCare Trauma product for musculoskeletal pathologies detection and triage.

Subtle Medical received FDA clearance for their SubtleHD product in the MRI space. Following a record-breaking January, it’s been a strong start to 2025 for the Californian imaging company.

Funding

February has seen some huge funding announcements in the world of Medical Imaging.

None bigger than Prenuvo confirming they had closed a $120m Series B raise during 2024. A leader in proactive whole-body MRI screening, will accelerate their MRI system with additional modalities and analyses of the body.

In the radiology AI space Harrison.ai, parent company of Annalise.ai announced a huge US$112m Series C funding round. This investment will fuel their growth into North America, whilst also building on their existing successes across Europe and APAC.

Cercare Medical also confirmed they had raised €7.4m to grow their global presence in the CT and MRI AI imaging space.

Partnerships

Some of the key industry partnerships announced this month were:

CureMetrix X Volpara Health X Lunit Cancer Screening

AIRS Medical X INCEPTO

Brainomix X Medtronic Neurovascular

Dedalus X deepc and Deepc X Cerebriu

NewVue.ai X RamSoft

Rayscape X INFINITT Europe GmbH X Biotronics3
